President Havolli had a meeting with high-level law-enforcement experts from USAID

Prishtina - 31.07.2017, President of KBA, Mr. Osman Havolli and Executive Director Mr. Yll Zekaj, hosted at the USAID Representative Meeting from Washington, Andrew Solomon, Ms. Jennifer Ober and Mrs. Flaka Xhelili Zekaj, representative of USAID from the office in Pristina.

USAID representatives discussed about a new USAID free legal aid program, the focus of which will be ethnic minorities and other marginalized groups. Interested in the role of the KCA in this regard, President Havolli explained the functioning and purpose of the KBA, its connection with the legal aid delivery system in Kosovo and cooperation with other institutions dealing with the provision of legal aid in Kosovo.

President Havolli thanked USAID for permanent co-operation, pledging to deepen this cooperation with an active role in future projects.

USAID representatives highlighted the decisive role that the KCA will have in the new project, which has its main goal in access to justice and will have three components: • Building KBA capacities in providing free legal aid; Improvement of quality for free legal aid; And Education of Citizens to Benefit From Free Legal Assistance in Kosovo. The KBA is open to cooperation and coordination in projects aimed at advancing the justice system in Kosovo.
